The Island

Pender Island is a group of two islands located in the southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada. The two islands, North Pender Island and South Pender Island, are separated by a narrow canal called Canal Bay. The islands are known for their natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities.

The main industries on Pender Island are tourism and agriculture. Visitors can enjoy hiking and biking on the many trails that wind through the island's lush forests and along its rugged coastline. There are also several beaches, including one at Roesland that is a popular spot for swimming and sunbathing.

Pender Island is also home to a number of small farms, where visitors can pick their own berries and fruits in season. The island also has a rich history, with several heritage sites, including the Pender Island Museum that is dedicated to preserving the island's history and culture.

Pender Island is a popular destination for boaters and kayakers, as the island is surrounded by beautiful waters and many sheltered bays. There are also several marinas and boat launches on the island, as well as a number of charter companies that offer fishing, diving, and sightseeing trips.

  3. Grocery stores: Pender Island has a few grocery stores, where visitors can purchase groceries and other essentials.

  4. Outdoor activities: Pender is known for its outdoor recreational opportunities, including hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, fishing, golfing and frisbee golf.

  5. Marinas: Pender has several marinas, which provide boat launch, slip rentals and other boating services.

  6. Medical facilities: Pender has a small medical clinic and a pharmacy.

  7. Gas station: Pender has one gas station located at the Driftwood Center.

  8. Library: Pender has a library where visitors can borrow books, movies, and other materials.

  9. Post office: Pender Island has a post office for mailing letters and parcels.
